Refusing invitations.

To reject an invitation with courtesy we can use the following:

Would you like to go to the movies tonight?

- I'd like to, but I can not. I have to clean my bedroom.

- I'd love to, but I can not. I have to help my mother.

- Thanks, but I'm very busy. Maybe next time.

Common Phrases to reject invitations.

I'm sorry but I already have plans. (Lo siento, pero tengo planes ya.)

I'm not free on Tuesday. (No estoy libre el martes.)

I'm busy. (Estoy ocupado/a.)

Thanks a lot but maybe another day. (Muchas gracias pero quizás otro día.)
