PAST CONTINUOUS

 

The past continuous tense expresses action at a particular moment in the past. The action started before that moment but has not finished at that moment.

The past continuous is formed from the past tense of be with the -ing form of the verb.

 

POSITIVE

I, HE, SHE ,IT WAS                 WORKING
YOU, WE, THEY WERE WORKING

 

NEGATIVE
I, HE, SHE ,IT WASN´T (WAS NOT) WORKING
YOU, WE, THEY WEREN´T (WERE NOT) WORKING

 

QUESTION
WAS I, HE, SHE ,IT WORKING?
WERE YOU, WE, THEY WORKING
